Known as the first man to break the color barrier in the Major Leagues, Jackie Robinson’s monumental story has been given the Hollywood treatment as evidenced by the first trailer for the full-length film, 42. Starring Academy Award nominee Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey – the innovative Dodger’s general manager who first signed Robinson to the minors and then helped to bring him up to the show – while Chadwick Boseman of The Express fame will portray the embattled Robinson. Set to Jay-Z’s “Brooklyn We Go Hard,” the trailer for Brian Helgeland’s film shows the various trials and tribulations that went into changing both the game of baseball and the world forever. 42 hits theaters on April 12, 2013.
